Settling in

Well, its feeling more and more like home here in snowy saginaw. We had another cold front come through, as I am sure most of you did as well. I am not sure how many inches we got, but it was a lot! More than I am used to in 2-inch Tennessee! Our good friends Dan & Tricia, who we met in Dominica, have moved in just a few buildings down from us. it's been so fun and sweet to be reunited. More pictures with them to come :).

Dixie seems to be really loving her new home. She is such a playful, sweet, and lovable companion. She's also very energetic:). At about 10:00 every night, she gets her "second wind", and starts darting in and out of every room and down the hallway, having a good 'ole time. She makes a game out of whatever is nearby, and is quite a hunter, even if it means hunting her own tail. Here are some pictures of her in her element.

After John moved in all of our things that we brought, we began the task of finding some second-hand furniture from Goodwill and the Salvation Army. We had already bought a bed, nightstand, and dining room table/chairs from a previous Ross student, but we still needed a couch, chairs, tv, desks, etc. It was a little bit more of a process than I bargained for, and a good reminder how easy it is to switch from not having much in Dominica and being very content, then moving to the States and suddenly feeling the need and desire to have more! But, in the end, i think we got some pretty good furniture at some pretty good prices. We even got a pink recliner!, which is my favorite spot in the house now. I am thankful!

John has been studying hard for his next big exam, the Comp, on January 14th. Please pray for him on that day, for wisdom and discernment about what to study between now and then, and the motivation to keep going (after a loooong 16 months).

Happy 2010 to everyone!

Signing off from Snowy Saginaw,

Briana

The pink recliner is sweet!! No pictures of pests or roaches yet--this is already a huge change from Dominica!

Are you staying warm? Did you ever get a remote car starter?

    Love you,
