thankful

I have never been more thankful for my husband than I am right now. There have been moments throughout pregnancy that I've thought to myself, "I can't imagine doing this alone". And in those moments, I think of the women I know who have done it alone--either physically or emotionally, and I have a greater level of respect and admiration for them. Doctor's visits, setting up the nursery, feeling the baby kick....having John with me makes the wonderful moments much better and the scary things not nearly as scary.

John and I recently took a day trip to Ann Arbor, as a way to capitalize on our last weeks before the baby arrives. We walked around, looked in shops and art galleries, ate lunch at Sava's, visited lots of old book stores, and then landed in our favorite place in Ann Arbor--The Cupcake Station. Except this time, we didn't get just one cupcake each. We got 3 each :). And before we made it home, we stopped to stock up at Trader Joe's--a "must" on my agenda.

We are almost 35 weeks now and the reality of our son joining us is becoming more real every day. The excitement and anticipation of his arrival has drawn our hearts closer and closer together. We are about to be a family...and I can't wait!

  3. It really is SUCH an exciting time for y'all and all of us who greatly anticipate your baby's arrival! If you get overwhelmed with the unknown, just remember every parent had a first baby, and felt all the same feelings. There are many who have gone before you. Just keep giving things over to God...and of course, eating cupcakes!!

    Love you,
    Les
