Highlights of the trip:
"taste-testing" the Pralines in City Market about 5 or 6 times. "i don't think I really got a good taste of that. let me try it one more time..."
running through the sporadic bursting fountains near city market in my bare feet.
Taking pictures of John posing in all kinds of hats from a hat shop on the riverfront in Savannah. Priceless.
taking a ghost tour through Savannah at night--rated one of the most haunted cities in the country. After our tour, i might agree! Not too scary, though. Just plain cool. and fun.
eating a ham, brie, mustard, and sliced apple sandwich from the french bakery called Papillote. um.....yum.
relaxing on Folly Beach with my man. Nowhere to be, nothing to do. Just me, the sun, and Harry Potter.
The Charleston aquarium....nothing compared to Chattanooga's :), but still enjoyable.
sharing a lemon italian ice with John while swinging on the big swings at Waterfront park.
fried green tomatoes at Poogan's Porch. pecan encrusted goat cheese and peach chutney. nuff said.
riding bikes through Charleston with John. No medical books anywhere to be found. Only beautiful historic homes, the ocean breeze, and a lot of romantic warm feelings.
Waterfront park at night, dolphins 10 ft. from us, and a feeling of everything being "right" for a few moments.
visiting the Angel Oak tree on St. John's island, SC. 300-400 year old oak tree. Pictures do NOT do it justice. One of the most amazing displays of natural beauty I've seen to date. Every branch of the tree could have been an entire tree alone.
And now we are back home. The reason I love pictures so much is that they capture some of what you don't want to lose when you come back home. Lots to remember and be thankful for.
Great pictures, looks like you had so much fun! We are looking forward to some similar time - when that season comes around for us.
ReplyDeletebtw, that Oak tree is pretty cool. Jen and I got to see it on vacation with her family before Dominica.
Looking forward to seeing you guys again when you're in Saginaw!
Nice pictures, Briana! One of my friends went to Savannah and Charleston with her husband last year and they loved it. Her pictures were beautiful and they stayed at a cute B & B Inn. Enjoy the rest of your stay back home before you come back to your apartment in Saginaw! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a nice trip. I can't wait to see pics in person!!! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteI'm so, so thankful you got to take this trip!!!Smart planning and being blessed.
ReplyDeleteI've seen first hand how hard you've both been working for a long time now.
